The bag is woven from natural plant “Krajood” (Grey sedge, or Lepironia articulata), in the sedge family Cyperaceae. Krajood is a tropical biennial herb, 1-2 meters in height, hollowed in the middle with small, soft-tissue joints, that can be found in Indochina and tropical zones of Asia. Krajood grows well in swamp forests, commonly found in Southern and Eastern Thailand. In the South, Krajood has long been traditionally used to make utilities such as simple woven household products.

The MAE-WAA WEAVE BAG  is a collection of “Krajood” woven and embroidered on the bag.  The bag is the work of a group of villagers that Mae Waa Chanaloes Co., Ltd. has focused on the importance of creating jobs and creating careers for local villagers. Therefore, Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung Province has brought products to expand and develop to suit foreign customers.

And in addition to the “Krajood”. We also have a woven from Water Hyacinth, which is popular with Thai people. In addition to being used as a bag, it can also be modified and woven into shoes, placemats, coasters, or even used to decorate the house in various styles.           

Currently, hand-embroidered jute bags or woven bags from hyacinth trees have the main market in countries in the Middle  East. in Thaimart, Bahrain. And it will be released soon. In Thaimart  in Dubai, United States.
